Giovanni Battista Bollazzi
A pioneer in the field of construction

Our construction company was founded by the emblematic figure of Giovanni Battista Bollazzi in 1933 in Lonate Pozzolo at the dawn of the first urban expansion. These were the years in which work was learned through direct experience on site and it was precisely in this way that Giovanni Battista, after a significant experience as a master builder in North America, took charge of a large team of building workers. 

The Postwar Building Boom

In the '60s and '70s the country grew rapidly and the province of Varese went through a period of great ferment in the building sector: techniques and materials changed, but the Bollazzi Company, then wisely led by the three sons of the founder, Giuseppe, Felice and Remo, kept pace and adopted a diversification policy in building and renovating.

In these years the company built the school and the gym in via Volta, the parish recreation centre in viale Giovanni XXIII, the church of S. Antonino Martire in Lonate Pozzolo, the new Medicine and Paediatrics Pavilions, the canteen, the Emergency Room of S. Antonio Abate Hospital in Gallarate and the parish recreation centre of Saints Nazaro and Celso in Arnate. They restored the Sanctuary of Madonna in Campagna and renovated Palazzo Cicogna, the actual public library in Busto Arsizio.

The company also managed to stand out in the construction of large industrial complexes such as Giovanni Agusta SPA (later Agusta/Westland, now Leonardo), Bragonzi SPA foundry, Emi foundry, Costruzioni Meccaniche Lonatesi CML (now Fives), Mobilificio Colombo, IBIS weaving mill, Bottarini foundry, Focrem foundry as well as numerous residential and commercial complexes.

Bollazzi Remo Company was born in 1986

The newborn  Bollazzi Remo Company, newly established but with ancient traditions, stood out not only for the numerous and impressive works, but also for the charismatic personality of Remo, with its policy of quality and "good building".

The company main objective is customer satisfaction, building and designing with special attention to technical and aesthetic details.

In 1991 the company continued under the direction of the third generation, his children, Eng. Gianni Bollazzi, Archt. Andrea Bollazzi and Dr. Elisa Bollazzi, still owners of the business, under the current name "Bollazzi Remo srl".
They personally manage both the construction and administrative sectors with passion and enthusiasm.

The Public Park Remo Bollazzi

On 16th December 2006, the Mayor of Lonate Pozzolo Piergiulio Gelosa and the parish priest Don Giuseppe Maggioni inaugurated the Public Park Remo Bollazzi in via Antonio da Lonate in Lonate Pozzolo. At the entrance of the Park, a fountain with a brass plaque pays homage to Remo: In memory of Geom. Remo Bollazzi (1924 - 1991) - An example of dedication to his job and to the community of Lonate.
